Lenor Zeeh Pharmaceutical Experiment Station

Description

The Lenor Zeeh Pharmaceutical Experiment Station, within the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy, is a center of expertise serving faculty researchers across the UW-Madison campus as well as private sector drug product development. Extensive pharmaceutical industry experience, combined with proactive leadership and the ability to collaborate with other UW centers of expertise, allows the station to accelerate the translational development of new drugs while maintaining the flexibility to provide problem solving and consulting services beyond the scope of traditional service providers. The station serves a key role in the effective selection and early development of potential new medicines.

Outcomes

The station has provided drug development services to numerous on-campus researchers and regional start-up companies, as well as several established pharmaceutical companies across the country, enabling potential new medicines to successfully progress to their next development milestone. Locally, the station has provided testing services enabling emergency response service providers to make scientific based decisions on replacing emergency medical supplies. The station, in conjunction with Extension Services in Pharmacy, has developed an industrial education program with the goal of enhancing the quality of drug development programs by establishing a core curriculum for training qualified pharmaceutical scientists.
