Leaflets on the Web
Joy Zedler works closely with land stewards from agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to identify information needs concerning invasive plant control and restoration of native ecosystems. She translates her research into "Leaflets" that are posted on her web site and that of the UW-Madison Arboretum (http://uwarboretum.org/research). To date, there are 17 colorful, readable Leaflets that are available to a wide range of users. The leaflets would not be possible without access to the Botany Department illustrator, Kandis Elliot, who puts the text and figures into a "Leaflet" template and makes them attractive to a broad audience.
Outcomes
The Department of Natural Resources developed policy based on data in one leaflet. A multi-agency group developed and published a detailed brochure that grew out of other research.
